I no longer work with young children individually. However, my years of working with children and their families has given me a strong basis for understanding developmental process. The dynamics of family can be complex and require a great deal of sensitivity to give each participant a sense of being understood and acknowledged. It is important that we work to heal the wounds of our early years, and make these relationships the most positive that we can.
My focus on working with families is on strengthening and clarifying the bonds that exist between family members and coping with stressors that challenge positive familial relationships.
These are issues that might be addressed in family treatment:
Parenting
Increasing problem solving
Developing positive communication
Managing boundaries
